Raised in a Chinese family with South African immigrant roots, Jaden spent part of her early childhood in Johannesburg, South Africa. She later moved to Melbourne, Australia during her teenage years, an experience that shaped her cross-cultural perspective and informs her artistic practice.

Most of Jaden’s recent work explores the complex relationships between individuals and the urban landscapes of East and Southeast Asia. With an emphasis on atmosphere, her work captures both quiet and dynamic in-between moments, where fleeting experiences of intimacy and alienation reveal the subtle tensions between personal identity and the surrounding environment.
